چکیده
The inelastic scattering contribution to an X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS) reflects the distribution of elements within sample depth. Varying energy incident photons changes contribution. We present a standardless, automated method that exploits this change enable compositional analysis XPS information depth (also known as amount substance, AOS3λ). In method, intensities observed using two or more photon energies are normalised correction factors. These factors derived determine AOS3λ from signals collected different samples. then compared with ratio elastic peak calculated for depths find layer thickness. has been applied analyse spectra thin amorphous carbon films yield quantitative, standardless and analysis.

High-resolution photoelectron spectroscopy
The evolution of photoelectron spectroscopy of neutral molecules in the gas phase from its first applications in the early 1960s to the present day is reviewed with emphasis on the description of methods that have contributed to improve the resolution. In early days, photoelectron spectroscopy was very successfully used to study the electronic structure of molecules. As the resolution improved,...
متن کاملPhotoelectron spectroscopy of XenI
XenI ÿ clusters n6 13 have been studied by anion photoelectron (PE) spectroscopy at a photon energy of 4.661 eV and an electron energy resolution of 10 meV. Electron anities (EA's) as a function of cluster size are extracted and compared to previous PE and tunable laser photodetachment spectra of these species. The EA's found in this study lie between those of the two earlier experiments. Th...

We report the 364-nm photoelectron spectrum of HC(4)N(-). We observe electron photodetachment from the bent X(2)A" state of HC(4)N(-) to both the near-linear X(3)A" and the bent ã (1)A' states of neutral HC(4)N. We observe an extended, unresolved vibrational progression corresponding to X(3)A" ← X(2)A" photodetachment, and we measure the electron affinity (EA) of the X(3)A" state of HC(4)N to b...

متن کاملThe Potentiodynamic Behavior of Copper in NaCI Solutions Studied by Auger and Photoelectron Spectroscopy
The potentiodynamic behaviour of copper in brine solutions was studies. Auger and photo-electron spectroscopy were used together with electrochemical methods. It is demostrated that the passivation observed in potentiodynamic curves is due to a surface film formation on a copper electrode. It is concluded that this film must be copper (I) chloride in nature. Effect of different factors on poten...
